For Huw Pateman, serving as a Public Governor at South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) is both a privilege and a deeply rewarding experience.
“Being a SCAS Public Governor is immensely rewarding,” Huw said. “You have the privilege of acting as a link between the governing body and your constituents, and of being a voice for any concerns they may have.”
As a Governor, Huw plays a vital role in ensuring members of the public are represented at the highest level of decision-making, helping to strengthen trust, transparency, and community engagement.
“If you have the desire to be a conduit between your community and SCAS, I would strongly urge you to stand for election in your area,” he added.
Huw’s message is clear: the role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a difference — both to the service and to the people it supports.
We are looking to appoint:
- 1 Community First Responder Governor
- 2 Staff Governors
- 8 Public Governors
Election voting will then take place in January and February 2026
