A huge congratulations to Peter Cooper, Community First Responder (CFR), who won the ‘Exceptional Volunteer Award’ at the recent Ambulance Leadership Forum.

The winners were announced at a ceremony taking place as part of this year’s leadership event and Peter was presented his award by Jason Killens, Chair of the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE).

Peter, a CFR in Buckinghamshire for 11 years, was nominated for the award as he exemplifies the spirit of the Exceptional Volunteer.  He consistently demonstrates outstanding service and unwavering commitment to patient care, attending countless 999 calls, mentoring new recruits and contributing to innovative projects that enhance service provision, his quiet leadership inspires many others.

A passionate ambassador for our SCAS charity, he’s represented SCAS and its volunteers in numerous media appearances, helping raise awareness and support. His involvement in product testing has improved frontline tools, and his tireless fundraising efforts have significantly boosted the SCAS Charity resources.

Peter’s humility, professionalism, and drive for excellence make him a credit to our organisation and a role model within the community. His impact is profound, and his dedication deserves recognition at the highest level.

At the same event, Chief Executive David Eltringham, was recognised for his service to SCAS ahead of his departure from the organisation next month.

Congratulations Peter and David!!
