Community First Responders, Susan and Ray Jones recently attended the Unity Against Cancer event at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, on 26 April, supporting an important community initiative focused on awareness, guidance, and support. Their attendance was made possible through a Community Resilience Grant awarded to SCAS Charity, aimed at addressing health inequalities in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Their presence contributed to a meaningful and impactful day, where many devotees benefited from the information and conversations shared. Attendees expressed sincere appreciation for the support provided, particularly in helping to raise awareness around cancer and encouraging early engagement with health services.
The event was a powerful reflection of community spirit, bringing people together in an atmosphere of compassion, learning, and mutual support. It was encouraging to see such strong engagement and openness, reinforcing the value of partnership working between healthcare services and local communities.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved in organising and supporting the event, and to all those who attended and contributed to its success.
