We recently spent a shift with Kate Wilson, a paramedic and team leader based at the Blue Light Hub in Milton Keynes.
Kate is regularly designated as the operational commander during her working shifts, which means she is despatched to the more serious incidents where her enhanced clinical and operational management skills are required.
On the day of filming, this included a two vehicle road traffic collision during the morning rush hour which looked nasty, but fortunately only results in minor injuries for some of those involved.
