Our people are our primary asset, with every member of the team playing an essential role in delivering the best possible care to our patients.

To make sure we’re supporting our teams and planning for the future, a new three-year people strategy was approved by the Board in March.

In developing the strategy, we carried out listening exercises and used our People Voice feedback channels to understand the issues and challenges people face, in addition to why they love being part of SCAS and what we could do even better.

It is crucial that we look after and support all of our people to be the best version of themselves. To that end, there are four golden threads running through our strategy:

  • Civility and Respect
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Continuous Improvement.

Our ambition is to create a work environment in which our people feel happy, safe and have a sense of belonging.

We aim to develop our offer as an employer of choice, attracting and welcoming new people who share our values of Caring, Professional, Innovative and Teamwork.

Acknowledging that we work in a complex, fast-paced and evolving landscape, we will be reviewing the strategy regularly as we proceed on our journey.
