Simon Catternole and Trevor Viddler, Community First Responders, attended a session at the Young Adults Employment Hub in Southampton’s Central Library.

Simon and Trevor were met with enthusiasm and curiosity, and after the demonstrations several of the group jumped in to have a go at CPR using the mannequin. It was fantastic to see so many people getting hands-on and building confidence in these life-saving skills.

While only one person felt ready to try the training automated external defibrillator (AED)

on the day, it sparked some really valuable conversations about how simple and safe these devices are to use — an important step in helping people feel prepared in real-life situations.

A big thank you to everyone who took part and made the session such a positive experience. Every bit of practice helps build skills that could one day save a life.
