On 29 April 2026, representatives from the ambulance service attended a community Health Fair organised by Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust at the Paulsgrove Youth Community Centre.

The event brought together a wide range of NHS services, local organisations, charities, and community groups, all with a shared aim of supporting the health and wellbeing of local residents. Carol Carter, Community First Responder, attended on behalf of the service,  engaging with members of the public and networking with partner organisations across the area.

Although footfall during the day was modest, the event created valuable opportunities to build new connections within the community. Carol was approached by several groups interested in receiving CPR training, helping to expand awareness of lifesaving skills and strengthen links with local organisations.

One of the highlights of the day was demonstrating infant CPR techniques to Tamzin Williams, Communities Health Action Together Project Lead, who is expecting a baby and was keen to learn more about emergency first aid for infants. The session sparked positive conversations around community preparedness, prevention, and the importance of accessible health education.

Events such as these continue to play an important role in strengthening partnerships, raising awareness of available support services, and helping communities feel more informed and empowered.
