Emergency Care Assistant Caroline Home joined colleagues, alongside Paul Hughes, community first responder, at the Goring Fire Station Open Day on Saturday 25 April. The event that saw a fantastic turnout from the local community, helped by the warm and sunny weather.
Throughout the day, the SCAS staff and volunteers engaged with visitors of all ages, offering hands-on opportunities to learn vital life-saving skills. Caroline and the team delivered CPR demonstrations and showed how to use a defibrillator, helping to build confidence and awareness around what to do in an emergency.
The demonstrations were well received, with many attendees taking the opportunity to ask questions, have a go themselves, and gain a better understanding of how early intervention can make a critical difference.
Feedback from the public was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the value of these community events in raising awareness and empowering people with the skills that can help save lives.
A big thank you to Caroline and everyone involved for representing SCAS and supporting such a successful and engaging day.
