On International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible women of SCAS.
In the early 1990s, only around 1 in 10 ambulance crew were women. Today the profession has transformed with around 4 in 10 paramedics now women.
Across SCAS, we’re proud that nearly 6 in 10 of our workforce is female. From the board room to the crew room, across 999, NHS 111 and patient transport, and all the support teams and volunteers that help us deliver our services, women at SCAS make a lifesaving difference every day.
