Following the announcement on 29 October 2025 that the South Central and South East Coast ambulance trusts are joining forces to create the first Ambulance Group model, we are pleased to confirm that recruitment for the Group Chair and Group Chief Executive roles is now underway.
This week, SCAS Chief Executive David Eltringham and SECAmb Chief Executive Simon Weldon have both shared with their staff that they will not be applying for the Group Chief Executive role.
Both leaders remain wholly committed to guiding their organisations through the winter period and supporting a smooth, well-managed transition as the new Group model evolves. Their continued focus and leadership will help ensure stability and momentum as we take this significant step forward together.
