South Central Ambulance Service teams have been instrumental in the planning and delivery of the first state visit by a German president to the UK for 27 years.

President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and his wife, Elke Budenbender, were welcomed in Windsor today (Wednesday, 3 December) by King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Over 40 SCAS staff and volunteers were on duty in Windsor during today’s ceremonies, working with local partners to ensure the day passed smoothly and without incident.

The trust’s resilience and specialist operations team has been part of the detailed planning process that takes place over a number of preceeding months with such state occasions, working closely with Thames Valley Police, Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service, the Royal Household and UK military services.
