We are delighted to welcome three new NEDs to the trust. Harbajhan Brar, Gary Ford and Ruth Williams have all joined the trust board recently, bringing with them a broad range of skills and experience.
- Harbhajan is currently employed as Director of Human Resources at Imperial College, London. He has over 39 years’ experience in the field and has previously been Director of Human Resources at the Department of Health and numerous other NHS trusts. He has also worked as Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations based at Warwick University, where he taught on their ‘MA in Race and Ethnic relations’, and has served on the Policy Boards of NHS Employers and NHS Professionals.
- Gary has been Chief Executive of Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley since its formation as the Oxford AHSN in 2013, and a governing body fellow of Green Templeton College, Oxford. He has led the adoption of innovation in stroke care for many years. He remains a practising clinician as a consultant stroke physician at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is also Professor of Stroke Medicine at the University of Oxford.
- Ruth has held senior nursing positions in an acute trust, strategic health authority and at NHS England, and prior to retirement from the NHS was the Director of Nursing for NHSE for Hampshire IOW and BOB with responsibility for patient engagement, safeguarding and patient safety. Ruth has also worked with universities to commissioned and supported education for nurses, AHPs, health scientists and pharmacists.
