Rewley Road Fire Station, the largest in Oxfordshire, will be hosting its annual Open Day on 13 and 14 September, from 10:00 to 16:00. We will be joining the fire service for this informative and engaging community event.
Visitors will have the opportunity to gain a unique insight into the operations of a working fire station, view the latest fire appliances, and experience a ride on the hydraulic platform, offering panoramic views of Oxford from 30 metres above ground.
The event will include a series of live demonstrations, such as simulated road traffic collisions and house fires. Activities for younger visitors will also be available, including a “Soak the Firefighter” challenge and interactive games with Drago the dragon.
Catering facilities, including a barbecue and refreshments stand, will be available throughout the day. This event provides an excellent opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the vital work of emergency services in Oxfordshire.
