GAFIRS Hosts Successful Emergency Services Day to Engage the Community

The Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) held a well-attended Emergency Services Day on July 18, 2025, as part of a wider series of community engagement activities aimed at raising awareness about the vital work of emergency responders.

The event showcased a range of emergency vehicles, equipment, and demonstrations, drawing families and residents from across the local area. One of the highlights of the day was the mass casualty Incident Support Unit (ISU), which captured the attention of many attendees.

Richard Brady, Clinical Team Educator, commented on the success of the event:
“Everyone had a great day. The mass casualty vehicle ISU attracted a lot of attention for the day with people understanding that it is not just an ambulance that could arrive on scene but the units to support them.”

Through interactive displays and opportunities to meet frontline responders, visitors gained valuable insight into the collaborative nature of emergency services and the specialised resources deployed during major incidents in addition to raising money for SCAS Charity.

GAFIRS continues to play a crucial role in promoting safety and strengthening ties with the local community through such initiatives.
