Ruth Williams

Ruth has lived in South Hampshire for 42 years, moving there after qualifying as a nurse in London.

She has held senior nursing positions in an acute trust, strategic health authority and at NHS England, and prior to retirement from the NHS was the Director of Nursing for NHS England for Hampshire Isle of Wight and Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire with responsibility for patient engagement, safeguarding and patient safety.

Ruth has also worked with universities to commissioned and supported education for nurses, Allied Health Professionals, health scientists and pharmacists.

Ruth was formerly Non Executive Director for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust. She is the chair of a national charity Langley Trust, which is a housing association and has care homes, and is on the board of Kings Group Academy.
