On 31st January it was a big day in SCAS’ history, as 10 years ago the Hazardous Area Response Team, HART in short, was launched. The last year has been an unexpected one, but together as #TeamSCAS we are proud to care for those who need us, whenever and wherever they might be, taking clinical care closer to the patient and into the ‘hot zone’ of an incident.
The team are trained to work in water, at height, in confined space and to use breathing apparatus, to name just small number of the additional skills that our amazing SCAS HART Paramedics possess. Working alongside our fabulous ambulance crews and responders across our service, together they provide our patients with the best level of care appropriate for the situation, giving so many patients the best chance of survival and recovery.
A huge thank you to all our SCAS teams and to those colleagues across the UK who have been a part of SCAS HART over the course of the last 10 years.
Especially in these un-precedented and uncertain times it is great to celebrate this memorable day, happy birthday SCAS HART!!
