South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS) is holding the second of its annual recruitment open days on Saturday 26 January in Otterbourne.
If you are job seeker, returning to work after a career break, or perhaps looking to change careers in 2019, then come and meet our staff and recruitment team at our offices at Southern House in Otterbourne, Hampshire, to discover the range of clinical and non-clinical vacancies available.
The event, which runs from 10.00am to 2.00pm and is organised on a drop-in basis, will give people the chance to find out what jobs are currently available, chat to existing staff employed at SCAS and discover what it’s really like to work for one of the country’s best ambulance services. There will be opportunities to see; live demonstrations, Trust vehicles, tours around the clinical co-ordination and contact centres and HR representatives can give advice on how to apply for current vacancies.
For local students currently studying for, or considering their subject options at, GCSEs and A-Levels, members of the education team will be giving talks about the various routes to becoming a paramedic.
SCAS currently has a number of emergency and non-emergency roles, as well as clinical and non-clinical jobs, it is recruiting to. As well as the roles located at Southern House, other available roles include those at ambulance stations across Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey and Sussex, as well as at the Trust’s headquarters in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
Further information about full-time, part-time and flexible working options will be available along with details of pay and enhancements, holiday entitlement, career progression and, most importantly, how to apply.
Victoria Dooley, HR Manager at SCAS, said: “There are many reasons to join SCAS, whether you are starting your career after leaving school or university, or are an experienced worker looking for a change this year. We are one of the most successful and innovative ambulance trusts in the country, being recognised independently in late 2018 by the Care Quality Commission as continuing to improve our already ‘Good’ rated emergency 999 and NHS 111 services. SCAS is the biggest NHS provider of non-emergency patient transport services in England, providing those services not just in our South Central heartland but also in Surrey and Sussex. As demand for our services continues to grow, so too does our organisation. We don’t just offer jobs, but can also give you a rewarding and satisfying career.”
The Recruitment Open Day is being held at Southern House, Sparrowgrove, Otterbourne, Hampshire, SO21 2RU on Saturday 26 January from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
For the first time, staff from Oxford Brookes University and the University of Portsmouth will also be present to talk to anyone interested in undertaking a Paramedic Science Degree; recruitment staff from Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will also be on hand to talk to visitors about the roles they are currently recruiting to as well.
