Randomised Evaluation of COVID-19 Therapy: the RECOVERY trial

The RECOVERY trial, a national effort being led by Oxford researchers, is the world’s biggest trial looking at whether existing treatments can tackle the symptoms of coronavirus. Set up in record time, It has recruited more than 11,800 patients across 176 NHS hospitals, and has already identified one effective treatment (dexamethasone) and ruled out two others (hydroxychloroquine and lopinavir-ritonavir).
