South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS) is holding the first of its annual recruitment open days on Saturday 13 January in Bicester.

If you are job seeker, returning to work after a career break, or perhaps looking to change careers in 2018, then come and meet our staff and recruitment team at our Trust headquarters at Northern House, Talisman Road, Bicester to discover the range of clinical and non-clinical vacancies available.

The event, which runs from 10.00am to 2.00pm, is organised on a drop-in basis, will give people the chance to find out what jobs are currently available, chat to existing staff employed at SCAS and discover what it’s really like to work for one of the country’s best ambulance services. There will be opportunities to see; live demonstrations, Trust vehicles, tours around the clinical co-ordination and contact centres and HR representatives can give advice on how to apply for current vacancies.

For local students currently studying for, or considering their subject options at, GCSEs and A-Levels, members of the education team will be giving talks about the various routes to becoming a paramedic.

SCAS currently has a number of emergency and non-emergency roles, as well as clinical and non-clinical jobs, it is recruiting to. As well as the roles located at the Trust’s headquarters in Bicester, other available roles include those at ambulance stations across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex.

Victoria Dooley, HR Manager at SCAS, said: “Over the last year there have been a lot of developments at SCAS. We successfully won the contract to provide the Thames Valley Integrated Urgent Care Service (accessed via calling 111) and became the biggest NHS provider of non-emergency patient transport services by expanding in to Surrey and Sussex. With demand also continuing to rise for our emergency 999 service, we are looking for a wide range of people to come and help us continue to grow and keep delivering high quality, healthcare and other services. I would urge anyone who is currently employed and looking for a fresh challenge, studying and considering where to begin their career, or those between jobs or looking to return to work to come along to our Recruitment Open Day. The Recruitment Open Day is being held at Northern House, Unit 7 & 8 Talisman Business Centre, Talisman Road, Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX26 6HR on Saturday 13 January from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
